AN Evesham man sunk his teeth into a police officer's uniform during a drunken incident in the town.
Hugh Parfitt, aged 25, admitted being drunk and disorderly following the incident in the early hours of Saturday, September 28.
Stephen Davies, prosecuting at Worcester Magistrates Court, told how Parfitt was seen by an officer having a row with another man at around 1am near Marilyn's nightclub, in Bridge Street.
He said Davies was seen later with some other men and he approached the officer.
"At about 2.15am he was on Bridge Street and came up to the officer and started pulling at his handcuffs and other equipment, and the officer formed the opinion he was drunk."
He added that despite a warning, Davies, of Northwick Road, continued to antagonise the officer grabbing his uniform and saying: "What are you going to do about it?"
"He then grabbed the uniform and put it in his mouth and ripped it."
Parfitt, representing himself, said he accepted the prosecution evidence, but offered no explanation for his behaviour. Magistrates fined him £100 and ordered him to pay £55 court costs.
