A 39-YEAR-OLD man was found in the bath by his mother, with stab wounds and cuts to his wrists and throat.

Robert Havard was his mother's full-time carer, an inquest at Stourport-on-Severn Court House heard.

Worcestershire coroner Victor Round said on the evening of Sunday, October 6, Mr Havard, who was single, had been at home. He had gone to take a bath at about 8.30pm.

"He didn't reappear, and his mother went to investigate.

"She found him in the bath which was full of blood and the water was stained red.

"He had stab wounds and cuts to his wrists and throat."

Mr Havard, of Arley Lane, Shatterford, near Kidderminster, was still alive when he was found by his mother.

He was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital, but was dead on arrival.

A knife was found at the scene and there was a suicide note written in Mr Havard's diary.

The post-mortem was due to take place today.

The inquest was adjourned.
