TOWNSFOLK are being urged to don their party hats and get out their Union Jack flags ready for the musical extravaganza of the year.

The Bromsgrove-based Primrose Hospice is holding its annual Proms Concert on Saturday, October 26. Classical music lovers can look forward to performances of timeless favourites including Land of Hope and Glory and Rule Britannia.

The West Midlands Light Orchestra will provide the instrumental accompaniment to the voices of the Primrose Choir, who will be expertly conducted by Kay Hadley

Saga FM radio disc jockey Peter Tomlinson will host the Spadesbourne Suite event and there will also be a licensed bar.

The show starts at 7.30pm and all proceeds will be donated to the Finstall-based Primrose Hospice and Cancer Help Centre. Tickets for the Burcot Lane event, priced £5 and £7.50, are limited in availability. They can be booked by calling Lyn Winters, at the Primrose Hospice, on 01527 875444.
