TWO Worcestershire players will be chasing success in the Benson & Hedges Snooker Championship.

Worcester's Ian Hurdman and Martley-based Terry Murphy are among 194 players taking part in the tournament, open to players outside the world's top 16, in Mansfield from October 21-31.

Hurdman takes on Cumbria's Andrew Milliard in the second round on the opening day of the tournament, while Ulsterman Murphy, currently ranked 45 in the world, has a bye to round three where he will play either former World Championship semi-finalist Tony Know-les or Albert Kenny on October 26.

The £40,000 tournament has attracted much attention for the comeback of Alex 'Hurricane' Higgins, who faces Lee Spick in the second round.
