ANDY Keast believes Worcester Rugby Club's Powergen Cup campaign could boost their promotion bid.

Worcester face a trip to Bracknell on October 19 after the National Two side beat Redruth 51-21 in the second round on Saturday.

And the Sixways' coach is hoping a cup run with have a knock-on effect in Worcester's National One title bid.

"Obviously with the lack of second team games at the moment, it will give us a chance to look at different players," he said.

"That can only be good for the squad and the players. I think we view the Powergen Cup as important and want to keep our winning run going.

"One good aspect about the cup is that the pressure is off in a way and you can kick penalties rather than looking for tries."

Bracknell were relegated from National One last season and Keast is pleased to be making a return trip rather than a trek to Cornwall.

"We're happy with the draw. We've been keeping an eye on them and they've had some mixed results this season but we will treat them with the respect they deserve.

"Cup matches away from home are always a potential banana skin so we will have to be on our game.

"I think, though, that we are happier with Bracknell simply because of the distance factor."

Meanwhile, North Midlands have made five changes to their starting line-up for their Midlands Under-19 Championship decider against Warwickshire at Coundon Road, Coventry tomorrow (7.30pm).

North Midlands won the first leg 27-3 at Droitwich last week.

But they have decided to rotate their squad to give players the chance to press their claims for inclusion in the county under 20 squad later in the season.
