STAFF at a Worcester firm have boosted the city's blood supply after a mammoth donating session.
npower held a special session at its city base to help meet hospital demand in the West Midlands.
They gave 54 units of blood to be used mostly in planned procedures, such as treating cancer, leukaemia and blood disorders.
Around 50 members of staff at the national home services provider lent an arm when the NHS Bloodmobile parked up.
The Worcestershire Royal Hospital uses more than 7,000 units of blood a year - 143 units a week.
"Our staff are a generous bunch," said Rose Gardner, community relations manager at npower.
"They were very keen to give their time and blood.
"We think it's great for the National Blood Service to come to large offices as many people are willing to donate blood but don't always have the time."
