A CHARITY bath stunt planned by bone cancer victim Daniel Jarrold will go ahead - but a chef is needed to make the 200 pints of green jelly he wants to bathe in.

Rowntrees has donated the lime-flavoured sticky stuff for the event, due to be held at the Arboretum pub on Saturday.

But his mum Joy Tinton is desperately hunting someone with catering equipment who is willing to make up the jelly.

"We've got the jelly and we've got a bath to put it in, but it would be a mammoth task to make it all up and we're hoping a hotel or restaurant will come forward to help.

"We could deliver it the day before and collect the jelly bath in a truck on Saturday morning." said Mrs Tinton.

The bath will be set up in the pool room at the Arboretum and Daniel plans to stay in it for half an hour, to raise funds for the young persons' unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, where he has been receiving chemotherapy.

The 15-year-old Christopher Whitehead High School pupil, a former rugby player and army cadet, was diagnosed with bone cancer in May after suffering a painfully swollen knee.

He was at home in Northfield Street, Worcester, this week after being treated at Heartlands Hospital, Birmingham, for collapsed lungs - a side effect of his chemotherapy.

Today, he was due to go back to the Queen Elizabeth for a third cycle of chemotherapy, but is expected to be home on Friday in time to take part in the jelly stunt.

"He is still determined to go ahead with it and it would help us a lot if someone could make up the jelly," said Mrs Tinton.

Anyone able to help can call her on 01905 23308.

The Arboretum is supporting Daniel's effort with a quiz night on Friday, followed by a tombola and raffle on Saturday's bath night.

Generous sponsors have donated prizes including a Worcester Rugby Club ball, signed cricket bat from Worcestershire Cricket Club, pedicure, teddy bear, gallon of beer, cinema tickets, dinner for four and a £100 car service.
