THERE has been a strong following over the past few weekends to enjoy the excellent competition and Sunday was no exception.

Peter Green had a rare double win taking each race quite comfortably in the end, but in the face of fierce competition.

The first race saw a down- stream start with Roger Midd-leton quickly into his stride. He stole the early lead but made a mistake at the first mark to let Green through.

Although pressurised by Middleton, Edwards and Rod Stephens, he managed to break away with Edwards coming home second.

The start line of the second race saw Green one side of the river and the rest of the fleet on the other with the wind veering round to give him the advantage. The gamble paid off and, with an early lead and clear air, he was away.

It was Pickford, Middleton and, for a long time, Richard Smalley coming through to contest second spot in a good tussle. It was eventually, however, Pickford taking second place behind Green with the rest of the fleet in close order.
