LEARNER drivers are having to hold on to their L-plates for another two months as roadworks stall them from taking their exams.
More than 20 driving tests have been cancelled by Kiddermin-ster's Castle Road test centre due to road works throughout the town.
The situation took a turn for the worse when workmen started resurfacing Castle Road - and the problems are set to continue because gas company Transco is now in the same road replacing 40 metres of old metal pipe with plastic.
Driving Standards Agency spokeswoman Pam Matthews said: "The roadworks outside the test centre are still there but the other works in Kidderminster have now been completed which means that the tests are not being delayed as much as they have been."
