STOURPORT Swifts have added an experienced front-man in a bid to reverse their bad start to the season.

Tim Langford snapped up striker O'Neill Donaldson who immediately made an impact with the equaliser in Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Solihull Borough.

Swifts now have no game until Saturday, September 21, when they visit fellow strugglers Rugby United.

Donaldson, 32, racked up more than 90 Football League appearances before dropping back into the non-league game a year ago.

He joined Shrewsbury Town from Hinckley United in 1991, scoring four goals in 28 matches, and moved onto Doncaster Rovers for a brief spell.

Sheffield Wednesday, then in the Premier League, paid £50,000 for the 6ft 1ins forward in 1995.

Despite three goals for the Yorkshire giants, Donaldson failed to earn a regular shirt in three years.

He later signed for Stoke City and Torquay United but without much success before dropping out of the professional game.

Donaldson's capture follows that of former Hereford United midfielder John Shirley and local teenager Ted Baylis.
