The winter season of lectures will commence on Monday, September 23, when Joe Hillaby, honorary research fellow of the University of Bristol, will explain why Halesowen Abbey has a historical importance far beyond its local significance.
This is one of many hundreds of monastic institutions which were disbanded by King Henry VIII in the 1530s.
Currently under threat from residential development, the site could become a prime historical resource for teaching the children of the West Midland area about the history of their region.
Meetings are held at the Bradbury Centre of the Worcestershire Association for the Blind, 2 Sansome Walk, Worcester, at 2.15pm.
New members are always welcome, as are visitors for a small charge.
