SWIMMING: Wyre Forest Swimming Club took second place in the Leamington Spa Centenary Gala, the first competition of the new season.

Six teams of swimmers aged from 11 upwards took part but Forest were depleted in some groups and several had to swim four years above their own section.

But they still claimed nine first places, 11 seconds and 12 thirds to finish second overall.

Final points: Stratford 231, Wyre Forest 192, Leamington Spa 191, Perry Beeches 179, Halesowen 122, Bromsgrove 110.
