WEDNESDAY CLUB: Mrs M Boath welcomed members and guests to the 25th anniversary meeting of the club on September 4. Birthday cards were distributed and two new members were admitted to the club - Mrs Barbara Sadler and Mr David Hopkins.
The river trip last month was a great success and the next outing is to Weston-Super-Mare on Thursday, September 26 when the coach will leave the village hall at 9am.
Entertainment was provided by The Golden Years with the well-known Billy Davies on keyboard. A very talented group who gave a super performance which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Mrs Boath gave the vote of thanks.
Rev L Powell who started the club 25 years ago was present and the helpers at that time also came along. A lovely birthday cake was donated by Mrs Marjorie Lake and cakes for tea were made by Mrs Wetton, Mrs Harris, Mrs Turner and Mrs A Smith. Other goodies such as sausage rolls and fruit salad and ice-cream were also served.
A floral arrangement was presented to Mrs Boath for all her work for the club.
Members finished the special occasion with the singing of We'll Meet Again - an afternoon to be remembered.
