PERSUASIVE dinner party hosts are being urged to cook up a storm and raise cash for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Staff at Worcester College of Technology are backing the Make a Meal initiative, which will see hosts urging their guests to donate cash to the cancer charity in lieu of bringing wine, chocolates and flowers.
The campaign, which is set to run until the end of the month, also has the support of TV chef Kevin Woodford and is sponsored by the Co-operative Group and Fairy Liquid.
Money raised will fund Marie Curie's home and hospice service and investigation into the causes, prevention and treatment of cancer.
"Everyone loves good food in pleasant company, so why not support a worthy cause and Make a Meal for Marie Curie," said community fund-raising manager David Rees.
Budding cooks can try out Mr Woodford's recipes, specially created for the fund-raising drive.
Everyone who takes part will be entered into a draw for the chance to win a £25,000 kitchen.
