NOMADS 1st XI's winning streak came to a halt at Bransford with a disappointing defeat at the hands of local rivals Malvern.

WORCESTER NOMADS v MALVERN

Nomads were without Simon Harris, but welcomed Malcolm Jones back to open the innings. None of the Nomads batsmen seemed likely to be able to build an innings, and were in the end grateful to a late stand between Ian Jinks (30no) and Miles Illingworth (23), which helped push the score up to 171-9.

The victory however wasn't easy come-by, as Nomads kept the pressure on. Jinks continued his recent form, taking a well-earned 4-61.

With Malvern fielding only 10 men, it went all the way to the wire, but in the end the one difference between the two sides was Peachey, who was able to accumulate the runs needed to get his side within striking distance. When he fell for 61, Malvern were in the better position and duly snuck home to win by two wickets.
