I WAS astounded by the article about the Game & Country Fair at the Malvern Three Counties Showground.
Game bird shooting has nothing to do with conservation as pheasants are factory farmed for sport, thus ruining the balance of nature. Anyone who has seen released pheasants wandering bemused on roads can see these are not 'wild' birds. I have found a pheasant after a shoot that had just been left wounded in the grass, I took it to a vet. For the Game & Country Fair to call fishing demonstrations 'fun', shows they have no concern for creatures pulled from their natural environment with hooks to be left gasping. This fair is not about the countryside, it is about cruelty.
