A KEEN cyclist and his son will be cycling the 1,000 mile route from Land's End to John O'Groats to raise money for two leukaemia charities.
David Baker and his son Andy are raising money for the charities Clic and Calm after Andy's three-and-a-half-year-old goddaughter Seren was diagnosed with leukaemia last year.
The Evening News caught up with David and Andy as they stopped off in Worcester four days into the two-week challenge.
"I'm finding it a lot harder than my dad," said 29-year-old Andy.
"It was very hard coming out of Devon and Cornwall because the terrain gets very hilly."
Andy said fundraising was going well and they had raised more than £1,000.
"We came back through Worcester so we wouldn't have to take all the stuff to Land's End," said 55-year-old David from Arundel Drive in Worcester.
"I have never done anything like this before. I've done the one-day rides and long weekends.
"I've been training for this over the past year or so. You can't just decide to do something like this."
Anyone wishing to make a donation to David and Andy's appeal can send cheques payable to Clic or Calm to Storm Recruitment, 27 Commercial Road, Swindon.
