CHADDESLEY Corbett are bidding to bring down the average age of their squad after another close escape from the drop in Worcestershire Cricket League Division One.
The village side's losing draw against leaders Old Elizabethans on Saturday condemned Astwood Bank and Romsley and Hunnington to the bottom two places.
Chaddesley, who visit Netherton in their final match this weekend, have now avoided relegation by a whisker in the last three seasons.
Skipper Matt Boden said: "It was down to confidence. We had two close games mid-season and then suddenly everybody had a crisis.
"The crucial game in the end was the week before when we beat Astwood Bank.
"We may well get some new players in and perhaps some younger faces. We have four over 40 though they are still good players."
