LITTLETONS staged its annual Open Mixed Doubles tournament last Sunday when 15 pairs from seven different clubs provided some excellent action.
The pairs from Bidford, Chipping Campden, Evesham Rowing Club, Littletons, Studley, Stratford and Worcester were divided into three groups for a round-robin event.
From these the quarter-finals were decided with the host club having two pairs still in contention.
Rachel Excell and Dave Rudge went through into the semi-final where they came up against last year's winners, Gloria Piper & Steve Mitchell.
Once again, after a close match, it was the Studley pair who were victorious.
In the other semi-final Lin Lisle and Matt Saunders (Bidford) lost to Adam Hill & his partner from Worcester.
The final was an entertaining match with the Worcester pair overcoming Piper and Mitchell 6-2. They were presented with their trophy and a bottle of wine each by Jane Collins, the event organiser.
