LIMELIGHT-hungry men of medium build in Wyre Forest have been targeted by an opera company which is searching for extras to play soldiers and slaves.

The Chisinau National Opera are performing Verdi's Aida at Birmingham's Alexandra Theatre this autumn and need a total of 20 men matching this description to take part in the "lavish" production.

The opera, one of the most popular ever written, will be in the Second City from October 1-5 alongside a newly-staged version of Bellini's Norma.

Would-be extras can contact Ellen Kent and Opera International on 01634 820226, while the ticket hotline is 0870 607 7535.
