MOVES are afoot to set up a group to look at ways of tackling drugs, alcohol and anti-social behaviour among Bewdley's young people.
The town council is in the process of setting up a committee after a meeting with Bewdley High School head David Derbyshire and youth workers.
This followed a Shuttle/Times & News article which reported how a number of pupils had been temporarily excluded from the school after a lunchtime incident involving cannabis, which took place off school premises, in July.
Town councillor Tony Williams spoke out on the incident at the time and is now spearheading the drive to establish a committee.
Councillors discussed it at their meeting on Monday night and will look at the group's composition before next month.
