A CCTV scheme would come as a huge boost to people like Wendy Myers.
The manager of the Load Street Sue Ryder Shop is at the end of her tether with the regular post-weekend mess she is confronted with in her shop doorway.
"It's always over a weekend. We have to clean up vomit and urine every single Monday morning and alcopop bottles are smashed up the walls," she said. "It has been getting worse in recent months - it's out of control on a Friday and Saturday night. People are frightened to come into town.
"My heart sinks on a Monday morning. I'm never sure what I'm going to find."
