West Hagley 3, Littleton 1

LITTLETON lost their second game in a week when they went down 3-1 at West Hagley.

This was a game which they certainly could have, and perhaps should have won. They dominated play almost completely in the first half, playing the ball around and for long periods had Hagley chasing shadows.

However, significantly they didn't create many clear-cut openings and long balls from the wings and quick one-two's are all very well, but they did not lead to goals.

And, when they did get on target Hagley keeper Poulton managed somehow to keep the ball out.

Hagley kept all their men behind the ball to weather the storm and gradually began to have a bigger say in the game.

It did come as a surprise, however, when they took the lead, after 52 minutes. Littleton were caught out by a rebound which left Wiltshire free, and his shot from 18 yards beat Rowberry in Little-ton's goal.

After 78 minutes, Hagley doubled their lead when Wilt-shire scored this time from close-range.

This stirred Littleton into action, and they immediately hit back and reduced the arrears as Robert Hands forced the ball home from close-range.

Two minutes later Littleton were awarded a penalty for handball but blew the chance of a point when it was driven wide.

Horton scored a third in the last minute to give a scoreline that was very disappointing to Littleton and its supporters.

However, the fans were smiling again on Tuesday when a solitary goal earned Littleton a 1-0 win at Droitwich Spa.

Littleton are at home on Saturday to Cadbury Reserves.
