Brislington 2, Evesham Utd 2

LEROY May's last-gasp leveller last Saturday could be worth as much as £46,000 to the cash-strapped Common Road outfit.

That's the amount United will bank if they manage to reach the first round proper of this season's FA Cup competition . . . but they could have finished up with nothing.

Tuesday night's replay winners were guaranteed £1,000 and a trip to Falmouth on September 14.

The winners of that first qualifying tie will pick up an additional £7,500 and book themselves a place in the second qualifying round when another £7,500 is up for grabs.

There's £10,000 on offer for third qualifying round winners and a further £20,000 for clubs going all the way to the first round proper stage when the possibility of television revenue comes into the financial equation.

The Bristol-based Scr-ewfix Western League side will, then, be cursing themselves after May's stoppage time strike on an afternoon when Phil Mullen's men failed to show their true colours against a side unbeaten this season.

Brislington started the brighter against a Robins side that had Phil Preedy playing in place of Shaun Pratt, who had a neck injury.

However, it was the visitors who took the lead against the run of play after 23 minutes when skipper Darren Bullock converted Andy Smith's centre at the back post.

The lead lasted just 11 minutes when the unm-arked Andy Cook netted from close-range after Neil Roslee's pass.

Bullock then turned villain three minutes after the restart when he was adjudged to have impeded a Jay Lucas in the box and Tony Cook gave Brislington a 2-1 advantage.

Danny James replaced Grant Pinkney after 69 minutes but United's hopes looked forlorn as injury-time beckoned.

May gave notice of his late intentions when his shot skimmed the crossbar but, with three minutes of added time pla- yed, the striker wasn't to be denied a second time.

Nathan Jukes played in the telling ball and, when two home defenders got into a tangle, May fired in the loose ball much to the joy and relief of the visitors' contingent.
