MOTORSPORT: Lee Bennett stepped up a gear in the UK Monoposto Championship by claiming sixth place at Mallory park.
Bennett came out on top in a thrilling battle with Southampton's Jensen Lunn as the pair raced wheel-to-wheel for 18 laps.
The Kidderminster man finally beat his opponent with a late braking move into the hairpin.
During the last lap, Bennett placed a lap time which was only .3 of a second off the fastest to be fourth quickest during the 19-lap event at an average 107mph.
Bennett takes his F3 Reynard to Snetterton on September 20 and 21 for the next race in the series.
