THE coming line-up of events at The Theatre Chipping Norton has been booked with the aim of variety and diversity.

The season opens with music on Saturday, September 7 as Abba UK, an Abba tribute band, formed in 1990, plays the hit songs of the 70s pop group. Other musical events include a rock 'n' roll night - At The Hop - which brings the songs of Chuck Berry and Cliff Richard, among others, back to life and a classical evening with The Bochmann Ensemble playing some Mozart, Beethoven and Dvorak.

A range of drama is on offer, from the topical John Retallack play, Hannah and Hanna, that explores the issues of asylum seekers and the comedy, Marry Maria, and its farcical look at marriage to a production called Taj, that delves into the history of the Indian Taj Mahal.

Film offerings are diverse, with showings of Brit-flick, About A Boy, starring Hugh Grant, the Mexican coming-of-age tale, Y Tu Mama Tambien, and the successful French film, Amelie.

An Evening With Alan Price, of The Animals fame, is one of the evenings dedicated to guest speakers and sees him tell tales from his long music career in rock 'n' roll and blues.

Other attractions include art exhibitions in The Gallery, a creative writing seminar and the pantomime Jack And The Beanstalk. For more information and bookings call the box office on 01608 642350.
