WEDNESDAY CLUB: After the summer break the club resumes on Wednesday, September 18, with the annual general Meeting. The new Programme shows the usual variety of subjects, speakers, and other events. FOOTLIGHTS: The annual general meeting will be held on Friday, September 13 at 8pm in the village hall. Inquiries to Maurice Andrews, 858448.

BLEDISLOE CUP: News has just been received that Willersey has again won the Bledisloe Cup, Medium-size Village, in the Best-Kept Village in Gloucestershire Competition. Since 1952 Willersey has won the cup nine times and has been runner-up ten times, as well as winning the Bledisloe Plate last year for the best of previous winners. Presentation of the cup will be on September 28.

VILLAGE FORUM: The next meeting will be on Friday, September 20 in the village hall. Many matters of local and general interest have been notified to the organiser, Maurice Andrews, for inclusion in the programme, including the village appraisal, traffic regulation orders, and the local plan and some planning applications.

TUESDAY FELLOWSHIP: The speaker at the next Fellowship meeting at the Methodist Church Room will be the Rev Stephen Mullings. All are welcome.

MOBILE POLICE STATION: The visits of the Mobile Police Station are proving to be well received and much appreciated. The next visit to the village will be on Sunday, September 22 at 3.30pm. All calls and inquiries, other than 999, should be directed to 0845 090 1234.

PARISH WALKS: The organised walks have again proved very popular and have been well supported. The last evening walk will be on Monday, September 16, meeting at the Jubilee tree at 6.30pm for a 3-4 mile walk.

VILLAGE HALL: The extensive works on the village hall refurbishment are now well in hand and many fund-raising events are being organised by the hall committee; details will be given shortly. One activity, the 100 Club, starts on Friday. Inquiries to Phil Bennett, 858695 or Jennie Bond, 853430.
