ACTING captain Mark Bennett struck 132 not out but Bewdley still lost in the final over against Oldswinford in Worcestershire Saturday League Division Two.

The visitors pulled off the two-wicket success with five balls left and claimed 20 points to Bewdley's seven.

Bennett led his team valiantly after they were put into bat but was lucky to survive two dropped catches in the early stages.

He was well supported by an aggressive 57 for Paul Edwards in a 91-run stand for the third wicket.

Craig Allen added 31 to help Bennett as he began to hit out and lifted the town side to 264-4.

Oldswinford began badly when Steve Odell took a wicket in his first over.

But Law and Brewer added 61 quickly for the second wicket before Lyman joined in to dominate.

Bennett took two wickets in as many balls to leave them on 152-5 but Lyman lifted Oldswinford to 230-7 with Lowe before a late strike-out completed the victory.

Bewdley 264-4, Oldswinford 265-8.

Bewdley seconds took revenge as they beat Oldswinford by four wickets with three balls to spare.

Oldswinford were put in to bat and made a slow start against captain David Jones and Mark Hudson.

They had only scored 37 runs in 20 overs but Fradgeley joined Osborne to accelerate the score with 61 for the fourth wicket.

Andy James then struck in a good 10-over spell and restricted the opposition to 183-7.

Bewdley's reply stalled mid-innings at 57-4 but Steve Brown and David Mills made an assault on the score at 76-5 and their 91-run stand changed the match.

Mills went for 35 but Brown (74 not out) held out to the end to see Bewdley home.
