SAD Stourport continued their freefall down the Division Two table over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The town side, who collected a meagre nine points from the double bill of fixtures, have failed to win since defeating Evesham in early July to go second.

In Monday's local derby, Cookley were asked to bat at Walshes Meadow and soon found themselves in trouble at 20-3.

Lee Shewry (43), supported by John Martin (38), fought back but Cookley were all out for 151 in the last over.

Spinner Kev Haycock captured 3-25 and there were also three wickets apiece for Ian Delo and Bevan Neill.

Stourport replied with Dave Cook smashing 28 before being bowled by John Blakeley (4-27).

Skipper Adam Nicholls brilliantly ran out Tom Gloster for 20 and the game began to slip away from the home team.

Neil Wildgust hit a stubborn 35 but when he was last man out to Paul Harris (4-34), Cookley had earned a crucial victory.

Cookley 151, Stourport 134.

On Saturday, Feckenham stormed to 267-1 off 42 overs before rain interrupted play.

Colin Buckle captured an early wicket but Stourport could not contain the free scoring of Adshead and Potgeiter.

Stourport responded well with Ben Champkins (38) and Dave Cook (39) both in good form but the star of the day was Neil Bailey with his maiden first-team half century.

Bailey finished on 76 not out as Stourport achieved a comfortable draw at 174- 3.

Feckenham 267-1, Stourport 174-3.

A winning draw was secured at Cookley on Monday when Stourport totalled a big 289-3.

After good early work from Steve Davis (33) and Andy Goddard (35), Chris Young took control of the game with a magnificent unbeaten century.

Young finished on 114 with Lloyd Roberts also unbeaten on 64.

Cookley replied in positive fashion and despite three wickets for Chris Humphreys and two victims for debutant Chris Mills, the home side closed on 213-7.

Martin Williams (37), Alan Pestridge (35), Ian Benbow (31), Gavin Brown (27 not out) and Simon Anderson (28 not out) were all among the runs for the villagers.

Stourport 2nds 289-3, Cookley 2nds 213-7.

Stourport seconds' game with Feckenham was rained off after they raced to 72-2 with Andy Goddard stroking 45.
