ALCESTER Grammar School's headteacher Iain Blaikie has praised pupils and staff for their efforts after the school announced its 100 per cent success rate for pupils achieving five grade A to C GCSEs.
"We expect our pupils to perform well but for 100 per cent to achieve five plus A to C grades and for more than 97 per cent of all grades in subjects to be A, B or C really is a remarkable record," Mr Blaikie said.
"Everybody has been rewarded for their efforts and I have enormous respect for the talents of those who have gained the highest marks possible.
"Adding further value to these results is nearly impossible. That said, selective grammar schools should be turning out top scholars and I would be first to congratulate other South Warwickshire schools on their equally laudable outcomes."
Top candidate at the school, Sarah Dickerson, achieved 12 grade As, 10 of them starred.
Several other students had straight As with nine of them starred.
