Trinity high flyers
THERE were some real GCSE high flyers at Trinity High School this year.
Michael English gained 11A*/A grades and Emma Hale 10 A*/A, but the school also congratulated Kate Worthing, Timothy Thompson, Kathryn Lovell, Laura Cooper, Becky Woolley and Adam Wydrzynski for their outstanding performances.
Overall, 98 per cent of students achieved pass grades, about 40 per cent scoring five or more A* to C grades.
Headteacher Marian Barton said: "This year's results are in line with expectation based on prior attainment and will make a good transition to sixth form studies.
"We fully expect, as the school develops, that the results will improve year on year.
"I am very proud of the achievement of the students and the support given by teachers."
Mrs Barton said the results for Year 9 and 10 students who had entered the GNVQ IT module early were also encouraging and boded well for greater success next year.
