REDDITCH had to settle for a losing draw in a rain-interrupted match at home against Penkridge on Saturday.

Penkridge, taking first innings, made a slow start against the steady bowling of Ben Davis and Robin Biddle.

Then rain spoilt the match with three interruptions.

Penkridge improved their scoring late and closed their innings at 224-3 off 51 overs, leaving Redditch to score 110 for victory in 25 overs, but Redditch slumped to 72-6 and a losing draw.

On Monday Redditch travelled to Fordhouses, and came away with another losing draw.

Fordhouses batted first and made 238-8 in 55 overs. Lostitch 5-88, Young 2-64.

In reply Redditch made 163-5. Run scorers were Entwistle 30, Busfield 28, Davies not out 35 and Young not out 38.

Fordhouses' bowlers Jamshed took 4-64 and Ahmed 1-24.

The seconds were outplayed away to Shrewsbury II.

In damp conditions Redditch found run scoring difficult and posted only 107-9 off 46 overs.

Nick Hadley 28, Axel 20 and Luke Davis with 18 the main scorers.

In reply Shrewsbury took only 18 overs to knock off the runs for victory by 10 wickets.

Redditch thirds played away against Halesowen III and came away with a one run victory.

Put into bat, Redditch posted 186 all out with Faisal making 72 and Nad Hussain 38 together with teenager Russell Southwick 22 the leading run scorers.

In reply Halesowen were dismissed for 185 with Naz Hussain 5-42 and Nad Hussain 4-13 doing the damage to give the victory.
