IT was party time for some pupils at Prince Henry's High as they celebrated a crop of A*s and As on Thursday.

Pupils descended on the Evesham school from 10.30am in eager anticipation or, in some cases, trepidation, of what their envelopes might contain. In most cases the results were pleasing.

Rebecca Hiles, of Coxlea Close, Evesham, said she was pleased with her "fantastic" results.

Rebecca scored five A*s, three As and two Bs. She now plans to stay on at the school and study biology, history and psychology.

Sam Worley, of Overbury, who achieved the same results as Rebecca, said they were "very pleasing". He intends to study sciences and maths in the school's sixth form next term.

"I was very happy and relieved", said Sophie Langman, from Rous Lench, who scored six A*s, three As and a B. She will also study in the school's sixth form, with chemistry, biology, psychology and sports studies her chosen subjects.

Harvington's James Howard said: "I would have liked an A in maths but apart from that I'm over the moon and I'm ready to party." He achieved two A*s, six As and two Bs.

Helen Gath, of Fladbury, said she had worked hard to get her results. "I am very pleased but I really can't describe how I feel."

Helen, who will also now join the school's sixth form, had six A*s, four As and a B and now aims to study biology, chemistry, physics and French. She also aims to embark on a career in zoology.
