SPORTS EDITOR'S MAILBAG

AFTER watching Kidderminster Harriers' gutsy performance on Saturday, I hope the various "fans" in the crowd shouting for Ian Britton's head and suggesting that he is not bothered about defeat went home with egg on their faces.

Here we are again at a so-predictable Aggborough, the home of criticism, no encouragement and diabolical crowds.

No-one would envy Ian Britton's job. This is a man who now earns less than at his previous job, less than some players and a darn sight less than Jan Molby.

No-one ever mentioned a defeat or bad performance when Molby, a "big name", was at the helm.

In the end the big name left without a good word for the club, going to Hull where he has not done anything yet and he also has money, support and is on a huge wage.

At the end of the day the players must take responsibility for bad performances and remember that they get paid the same wages no matter who is in charge.

We may or may not win anything this season, that remains to be seen.

But with the results so far I think we have done better than expected.

Just give the man a chance. It's early days.
