EVESHAM'S Wood Norton has been revealed as the secret location where the BBC has been auditioning for a new children's television presenter.

Ten hopefuls, all with their eyes on a coveted 12-month contract with the BBC, have been the subject of Making It, which began on children's channel, CBBC, last week.

The ten semi-finalists who appear in the programme were whittled down from thousands of applicants. They have been staying and filming at the BBC's training and development facilities in Wood Norton.

They have also been out and about in Evesham, as training executive, Charles Osborne, explained.

"Observant residents may have noticed the young hopefuls around the town as they carried out the practical tasks given to them, such as interviewing people in local shops.

He added: "Wood Norton was chosen for the project because it is the only location in the country that is able to offer on-site accommodation to the 45 people involved in the production, as well as providing the necessary state-of-the-art technology and expertise to produce this live show."

The programme is now down to the last five contestants. They are Zara, Richard, Kem, Maddy and Matt. The winner will be announced tomorrow on the programme, which begins at 3.50pm.
