THE newly formed Wyre Forest Brintons team came away from Bridgnorth Town Reserves last Thursday with a 1-0 West Midlands League Division One South victory.
Bridgnorth started brightly but the Forest defence held firm and came more into the game as the half progressed.
The visitors were close to scoring on three occasions but eventually grabbed the only goal in the opening minute of the second half.
Richard Costello turned and hit a shot from 20 yards which beat the Bridgnorth goalkeeper.
The home side dominated the rest of the game but Forest's defence of Simon Wills, Paul Geary, Shaun Perry, David Knight and Lee Andrews withstood the pressure.
l Forest players are asked to meet at the Hare and Hounds pub at noon for Saturday's match in Hinton.
