SOME superb football powered Bewdley Town to a 7-1 thrashing of visiting Ledbury Town Reserves in West Midlands League Division One South on Saturday.

Neil Turford started the rout with a fine header and Grant Gibbs soon added the second with a thunderous shot.

Gibbs' strike partner John Maffei grabbed the third as Bewdley played keep ball with Paul Field organising the back four.

It was not long before the fourth goal arrived as a good move between Keith Elliott and John Hardiman allowed Chris Hough to fire into the net from 30 yards.

Maffei drilled home his second with 10 minutes of the first half left.

Bewdley did not look in any danger in the final 45 minutes though the visitors did grab a consolation.

However, the home side added two more through Gibbs after Hough pressured the keeper and an own goal.

Players are asked to meet at 1.45pm at Ribbesford Meadows for Saturday's game with Malvern Rangers.

Squad: Harvey, Osborne, Lawley, Ford, Field, Hardiman, Turford, Elliott, Maffei, Gibbs, Hough, Harris, Holt, Middleton, Battan, Merse, Hopkins, Cronin, Pickett, Brothers, Wood.
