A DISJOINTED display on Saturday did not stop Chaddesley Corbett marching to the top of West Midlands League Division One South after two games.

Chaddesley beat Bustlehome Reserves 2-0 with a double strike from Craig Pratt bringing his season's tally to four in competitive matches.

They took the lead on 20 minutes when Ian Vogel won a midfield tussle and fed Craig Pratt who outpaced the defence and calmly slotted home.

The visitors created further chances, especially for Pratt and Ashley Phillips, while the defence of Drew Armstrong, Matt Baynton, Gavin Knight and man-of-the-match Brian Burton was outstanding.

But Vogel did have to hook the ball off the line in the first half after a long free-kick caught out keeper Gareth Yarsley.

Chaddesley struggled to find rhythm on a poor playing surface but made the game safe with a second on the hour.

Alex Taffe found Pratt with an inch-perfect pass and the top scorer drew the keeper before curling home a top-corner finish.

New signing, Jamaican Horace McLeod, provided the assist for Taffe's well-saved header before Yarsley pushed a late 25-yard pile-driver around the post.

Chaddesley players are asked to meet at the Land Oak pub at 12.45pm on Saturday for the game at Blackheath.
