A BURGLAR who raided premises on a Kidderminster trading estate was trapped by footprints left by the distinctive pattern on his training shoes, Wor-cester Crown Court heard.

William Webb told police he had loaned them to someone else but eventually confessed to the burglaries, said Miss Elizabeth Muir, prosecuting.

Webb, 19, of Avon Road, Kiddermin-ster, who admitted burglary, theft, handling stolen goods and obtaining property by deception, was given 12 months detention.

Computer equipment worth £1,160 was taken in a break-in at Oakleaf Car Sales in Mill Street, Kidderminster, said Miss Muir.

Webb also stole a £499 printer after breaking into premises on the Harriers trading estate, Kidderminster, and stole a £499 printer.

Webb also received a chequebook stolen from the Carpet Foundation Company in New Road, Kidderminster, and cashed cheques worth £900 and £1,200.

He was arrested after trying to cash another for £2,896.
