AS a trader I am appalled at the timing of the latest work in connection with flood defences in Bewdley.

AS a trader badly flooded in 2000 I fully appreciate the work needs to be done, but did it really need to be started just a week before a bank holiday?

All the other bank holidays have passed us by with the river access virtually closed, affecting trade.

The summer has been as traumatic as the winter with no parking.

Just for once could we have some planning and consideration for the traders in Bewdley.

How much more can we take?

I spent the bank holiday looking through metal barriers as if in a war zone; which is what Bewdley looks like.

Just leaving the work until the children went back to school would have helped a little.

Are the council trying to destroy the businesses totally?

We don't deserve such terrible treatment, we have been through enough.

I will have to change my shop's name from Cheap and Cheerful to Cheap and Fed Up.
