CYCLING: Phil Blacker celebrated a hard-earned third win of the season at the 58km Ashbourne Cup Circuit Race in Derbyshire.
Fellow Wyre Forest Cycle Racing Club racer Elliot Dinsdale finished high up in the bunch in the contest at Darley Moor Sports Centre.
The race was action-packed from the start and the two Wyre Forest men were ever present near the front of the race.
With about five laps to go, the leaders were caught after a long chase with Blacker joining three other cyclists to form the race-winning move.
The bunch languished 30 seconds behind and he was in a great position coming into the final lap, helped by a sterling marshalling job by Dinsdale.
Blacker surged his way to a tight victory around the last bend and up the finishing straight.
Dinsdale continued his run of good form after a delayed start to the season due to the London Marathon.
