SHADOW local government minister Eric Pickles dropped into Redditch on Friday to garner support for a campaign against the setting up of Regional Assemblies by the Government.
Mr Pickles joined Tory councillor Karen Lumley and Conservative MEP Philip Bradbourn in the town centre as they collected names for a petition.
Mr Pickles said if Government plans for a regional assembly were adopted, then Redditch would be ruled by Birmingham to the detriment of the town.
