I HAD to read the letter twice to believe it. I refer to the mother who wrote regarding relocation of parent and child parking spaces at Tesco store to the far end of the car park (Letters, August 21).

She was dreading carting her kids across the car park in the pouring rain. How I sympathise; children walk, get wet, it beggars belief.

Tesco should send all pensioners to the far end of the car park. After all they have plenty of time; the exercise will do them good (they dodged bullets and bombs in the war you know). So rain cannot hurt them.

Next, the disabled should go to the other end of the car park. Most of them have walking aids - wheelchairs, sticks and walking frames.

Their arthritis will benefit and if it rains, well, they can run for it.

All power to the campaigning mother. If successful perhaps she could extend it nationwide to stop all other traffic within a 100 miles of school runs. That should help her!

I FULLY applaud the decision of the Tesco management team in relocating the parent and child parking spaces in their car park off Coldfield Drive, so freeing a valuable area for further disabled parking.

The parents, fortunately, have the power of leg mobility which, unfortunately, the disabled do not. Leave this new and fairer arrangement as it is.
