PARISH COUNCIL: Report of the latest meeting.

District Council: Coun Bourne reported the Boundary Committee had made final recommendations for Blackminster to be included in the Offenham and Bretforton Ward for election purposes.

Planning Green Paper: On Government approval, the county planning process will be regionalised. It is likely that the WCC Structure Plan will be abolished. There may be considerable higher costs for retrospective planning applications.

Burial ground: The tender has been approved for hard landscaping which will provide a garden of remembrance for interment of ashes. Approval has been given for the soft landscaping of the extension.

Playground safety: A sample of the safety matting would be requested and a quotation obtained for this to be fitted under the swings.

Stoneford Lane: Quotation had been approved to lower the hedge, work carried out as soon as possible.

WCC Comput@bus: Courses are due to start in September, residents would be contacted to arrange course dates.

WCC - Bus Timetables: Repairs have been completed to the damaged timetables in Coldicotts Lane and New Street.

Litter Bins: Damaged outer cover will be replaced on bin in the recreation ground.

WDC - Annual Report: A copy of the annual report had been received. Document will be circulated.

District local plan: Representations were due in by August 7. Copies were on file.

WCC - Road Closure: A copy of the notice had been received. Repairs in Main Street and Bridge Street, end of August.

Planning: Applications: Mrs M Watson, Main Street - retrospective application for wall. Mr R D Albutt, land in Station Road - continuation of permission for change of use from agricultural to animal bedding storage. Mr R Appleby, Allens Barn - 17th century timber frame agricultural building into a dwelling. Mr and Mrs Beirns, 76 Main Street - single and two storey rear extension. Mr and Mrs Carmichael-Jones, 7 Whitford Close - rear conservatory, study extension and screen wall. Mr N Pillinger, Orchard Close - garage extension.

Approval: Mr D Lloyd-Barker, 18 Station Road - double fronted garage with storage/utility space above. Mr J Thompson, Greystones, Station Road - detached garage and garden store, rear conservatory. Mr I Johnson, The Close, Main Street - extension to kitchen and new porch.

Refusal: Mr and Mrs P Watson, 39 Main Street - alterations to workshop/store space internal first floor space between two halves of building behind barn doors, with first floor rear windows and wall

WDC - Dog Waste Bags: Bags have been made available at bin in Back Lane.

Roads/footways/greening of the village: Complaint had been received of rubbish being dumped on the highway verge in Station Road. Matter to be investigated.

Potholes: Were reported in Clayfield Road. Condition of the road in Back Lane and Red Yat Lane were also reported.

Drains: Problems were reported in New Street and Coldicotts Lane.

Street lights: Faulty lights were reported in Bridge Street, Coldicotts Close, Orchard Close, Station Road and Grange Road.

Public right of way: A copy of the map for the village would be obtained.

Back Lane: Unable to access planked bridge across the brook. Relevant authority would be contacted.

Obstructed footpath: Complaint had been received of overhanging shrubs from No 1 and 2 Farriers Court. Owners would be contacted. Area dangerous for pedestrians.

Fly tipping: Recently there has been a spate of fly tipping in the village.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, September 9 in the Memorial Hall, starting at 7.15pm with open forum.
