A WORCESTER student has signed up for a huge walk to raise money for a children's charity.
Kris Jonsberg has pledged to complete a 120-kilometre trek through South Africa in aid of 1to1 Children's Fund, for children dying of Aids.
"The charity is based in the UK and does work for children all over the world," said the
22-year-old, from Belmont Street, Rainbow Hill.
"Hopefully I'll be doing it with a friend, but I'm not sure yet. I'll happily do it on my own."
"The charity has given me training details and I will have to go to the Malvern Hills to get in shape for the trek.
"I've also got to join a gym to improve my stamina so I can run for five miles and then walk for seven hours at a time."
Kris, who is studying English at University College Worcester, came across the trek while flicking through a newspaper.
"I just saw it and thought I wanted to do it - I don't actually know anyone with Aids," she added.
"I now have to raise £2,375 before next April."
Anyone who wants to sponsor Kris can contact her on 01905 27932.
