THREE would-be robbers left empty-handed after attacking a woman in broad daylight in a Kidderminster street.

The woman, who was in her late 30s, was walking along Vicar Street towards the town hall on Friday, August 16, around 2.30pm.

When she was close to the Swan Public House, she was approached from behind by three teenagers.

Two attempted to grab the straps of her rucksack, which she was wearing on her back.

She fell to the floor and the men escaped empty-handed.

She was shocked and suffered soreness to her right wrist and ankle.

The youths have been described to police as aged around 16 years old.

One was about 5ft 10in tall, slim build with short blond hair gelled back. He was clean-shaven and wore cream tracksuit bottoms and sweatshirt.

The second was about 5ft 8in tall, slim build with short brown hair gelled back. He was clean-shaven and wore navy jogging bottoms and a cream sweatshirt.

The third is described as being about 5ft 7in tall, slim build with short brown gelled hair. He was clean-shaven and wore a navy top and trousers.

Kidderminster police are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone who has any information about the attack, to call on 01562 820888.
