A DISGUSTED mum-of-two has hit out at "mindless vandals" who smeared dog mess on children's play equipment at a Droitwich park.

Emma Tyler discovered the excrement plastered over the swing, slide and wooden animals when she visited the playground in the Lido Park, off Worcester Road, with her children Laurie and Mia.

"My husband and I first saw it on the swing and couldn't believe our eyes," said Dr Tyler.

"We regularly have to clear up cans and bottles before our children play but this we just couldn't believe."

She said her three-year-old son Laurie went to get on the slide, but stopped when he saw the excrement.

"I can't believe anyone would be that heartless. To do something like that to youngsters' play equipment is just mindless vandalism.

"My children were really upset because we had to cut our trip short as they couldn't really go on anything."

She said by Monday, council contractors had cleared the mess up.

The district council's client services manager Sharon Casswell said the incident was serious because of the health risk posed.

"Every morning our contractors check and clean the play area in Droitwich," she said.
