A CAR ploughed through the front window of a Worcester shop early today.
A member of the public called police to report a white Ford Escort reversing through the window of Costcutters in Prestwich Avenue, Newtown, at 2am.
The driver of the Escort is believed to be male, fairly tall, and wearing a light-coloured baseball cap.
A police spokeswoman said Costcutters had not yet reported anything stolen.
Two hours after the incident, firefighters were called to deal with a car fire in Conway, Tolladine.
One appliance from Worcester was sent to the scene at 4.15am and the fire was extinguished 10 minutes later.
No official connection has been made between the two incidents.

As the Evening News went to press, police could not confirm whether the incidents were being treated as an accident or criminal activity.
