A TOUR of district businesses has given Wyre Forest MP Dr Richard Taylor high hopes for the future.

Dr Taylor has spent part of Westminster's summer recess touring district enterprises and has been highly impressed with the innovation on show.

His visits came as the district begins to feel the full effect of the country's biggest fall in manufacturing output for 23 years.

He said: "We may not be able to compete with the nuts and bolts of the Asian market but from what I have seen we can compete with the high quality technical products.

"It is very exciting to see how traditional businesses can change tack and turn their hands to modern, innovative work."

He added: "My visits have left me very excited about district business and I will certainly do my best to promote them.

"Our area is a good place to live and it is somewhere where you find loyal, dedicated workforces with a host of skills."

The MP spoke after visiting Klark Teknik, Purac, Titan Steel Wheels, Sealine, Morgan Ceramics and OGL.
