A KIDDERMINSTER school will soon have new computer equipment for children with learning difficulties, thanks to a grant from Ronald McDonald Children's Charities.

Stourminster School has received a grant of £2,000 to provide the equipment.

Christine Creamer, from Stourminster School, said she was delighted to receive the grant.

"Stourminster School is a special school catering for 150 students with moderate learning difficulties and emotional or behavioural problems," she said.

"Thanks to the grant from RMCC we have been able to invest in a new system called Picture Exchange Communications System (PECS).

"The system uses pictures which the children can point to when they want something and to help them construct sentences and express themselves.

"PECS will provide an invaluable tool in helping the students to develop their communication skills."
